In “Breath Meridian,” I explore the dynamic interplay between images and sound, creating a narrative that is as much about contrast as it is about harmony. The piece is a video collage comprising two distinct yet resonant video clips. Accompanying these visuals is a uniquely poignant rendition of “Hot Cross Buns” performed by an enthusiastic middle school band

Raptor is an evocative video collage, which invites the audience into a world where disparate elements are juxtaposed to establish a surreal mix of imagery and sound. At its center, Raptor embraces the enigmatic nature of combining diverse images, text, and audio, crafting a non-linear experience that encourages viewers to engage with the collage on an abstract level.

SEARCHING FOR BORDER is the first piece in my series WE ARE EVERYWHERE SOME NOT BY CHOICE, which explores the experiences of migrant communities through micro videos—short video collages lasting one to three minutes. My inspiration comes from the interplay of disparate video clips and contrasting soundscapes, which I use to investigate topical issues. In SEARCHING FOR BORDER, I address the complex anxieties surrounding migrant communities.

PORO is the second piece in my micro video series WE ARE EVERYWHERE SOME NOT BY CHOICE, which explores themes of surveillance and visibility within predominantly white and European cultures. This work draws inspiration from the history of surveillance as a tool of othering, particularly reflecting on the antebellum United States, where Black people were subjected to “night rules” or Lantern Laws requiring them to carry a lamp when out at night, effectively forcing them to become visible.
